RAFALE III

2019-2022

Moth

Rafale has been present on the international scene since 2015 with the C-class catamarans Rafale I and II and is backed by several renowned professional and international competitions (27th Little Cup in Geneva in 2015, Miami Foiling Week in 2018). Hard work and self-sacrifice made it possible to be elected "Best Sailor in 2017".

Rafale is changing course by now tackling the Sumoth Challenge with its new boat:

SuMoth Challenge

The Sumoth Challenge is a 6-day event taking place during Foiling Week 2022 taking place in Lake Garda, Italy. It is an unmissable demonstration and exhibition event for foiling boats, and officially one of the stages of the foiling moth world cup.

The Sumoth Challenge is divided into two parts: dynamic and static. The dynamic component consists of a regatta to highlight the agility of the boat as well as a speed test. The second part deals with design, innovation, manufacturing as well as the eco-responsible dimension of our project.

OUR TEAM

The realization of this project requires us to develop and use, as a team, skills in a wide range of areas, from the manufacture of composites (manufacturing the boat) to social relations (search for sponsorships, networking) in through computer design (mechanical design), electronics and programming (embedded data collection system).

With around twenty members driven by unfailing cohesion, the Rafale team is today a large family motivated by the same objectives.

A sustainable design

Rafale has been innovating in the field of sustainable composite materials since joining the SuMoth Challenge in September 2019, but also wishes to respond to the other constraints that a sustainable boat implies by relying on various technological responses.
